Ubud Writers & Readers Festival

Dear Friends,

And we're off!

Lonely Planet founder Tony Wheeler commenced the Festival with this quote (and a gong): "This is truly one of the world's great book festivals."

Then the Reverend Canon Mpho Tutu gave an incredibly rousing keynote, "Making peace is infinitely harder than making war."

Unforgettable quotes and uncommon moments are flowing in thick and fast, and there's plenty more to come in Day 2 of the Main Program; October 30. Buy your 1 DAY or 4 DAY PASS now.

A reminder of the changes for today: the Decencia panel replaced with Return to a Savage Harvest, and 1965, Bali is cancelled.

Enjoy and keep an eye on the program;tomorrow proves to be yet another amazing day. Browse the full program and plan ahead here (this digital book includes all program updates).

Make sure to pick up day passes at our Box Office and don't miss out on any of the free events held by the Festival.
