I just wanted to update you on the merger of Penguin and
Random NZ.
This week following a two week period of consultation and
feedback from our staff we announced the following:
Penguin NZ and Random House NZ will merge all our functions
and become one fully integrated business from January 2015
We will all move into the one office at 67 Apollo Drive,
Rosedale in January 2015
The Poland Rd distribution centre will close at the end of
March 2015. Following that all Random House and Penguin titles will be
distributed out of United Book Distributors in Australia.
In the meantime it is business as usual and the two
companies will continue to operate separately. None of our colleagues in the
Industry need do anything different.

IT'S MY HOPE that NZ's many fine writers and editors do not find themselves out in the cold as a result of the merger. We need them.
