Bloomsbury and Faber & Faber extend warm congratulations to their shortlisted New Zealand authors

Allen & Unwin New Zealand is delighted to represent two of the four shortlisted authors on the New Zealand Post Book Awards fiction shortlist.
Both Bloomsbury and Faber & Faber wanted to pass on their warm congratulations to their New Zealand authors who were shortlisted.

'It is thrilling for Faber, and for me personally, to see Kirsty Gunn nominated for the New Zealand Post Book Awards. Kirsty has been a mainstay of the fiction list at Faber for almost two decades and when she delivered her incomparably brilliant novel, The Big Music, 18 months ago I knew this was her masterpiece. The Big Music is a novel of visionary intensity, and it is no exaggeration to say it is quite unlike any other novel so far published this century.'
Lee Brackstone, Creative Director, Faber & Faber Ltd

‘The Forrests is an extraordinary book which has captured the hearts of readers around the world. The glowing praise from the media around the world has been little short of breathtaking, with superlative after superlative … ‘exuberant’… ‘authentic’… ‘beautiful’ … ‘remarkable’… ‘magnificent’ … ‘transcendent’… ‘compelling’ … ‘mesmerising’… ‘exceptional’. We couldn’t agree more. Congratulations to Emily Perkins on her shortlisting for the New Zealand Post Awards from everyone at Bloomsbury. It has been a privilege to publish The Forrests.’
Louise Sherwin-Stark, Managing Director, Bloomsbury Publishing, Sydney
