Nook's First UK Partner Is Electronics Retailer John Lewis

PublishersLunch
Barnes & Noble announced that department store John Lewis will be its first UK retail partner as of October, selling Nook Simple Touch and GlowLight in 37 stores as well as on its own website. "John Lewis is where knowledgeable customers turn for trusted advice on the best products to purchase, and they are a perfect partner to help launch Nook in the UK,” said BN president of digital products Jamie Iannone in a statement. "We look forward to bringing more choice and convenience to discerning UK customers with our critically acclaimed line of reading devices and expansive selection of content."
John Lewis also currently sells Kindle and Kobo devices. WH Smith partnered with Kobo last October, and Waterstones will roll out their Kindle partnership this fall. BN says their partner will be "echoing" their dedicated in-store Nook boutiques by "prominently display[ing]" Nook "in John Lewis electronics aisles throughout the UK as well as its Web site."
