Writers on Mondays - Wellington
30 August, 2010

No Fretful Sleeper: Paul Millar

Bill Pearson’s homosexuality forced on him a life of contradiction and secrecy in a society that had ‘no place for the man who is different.’ In his acclaimed new biography, Paul Millar examines the pressures that shaped the author of Coal Flat  and ‘Fretful Sleepers’ – Pearson’s famous critique of Kiwi conformity – and fills in the background with Mark Williams.

Writers on Mondays is presented by the International Institute of Modern Letters and The Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa.

These events take place at 12.15-1.15pm, at The Marae, Level 4, Te Papa.
They are open to the public and free of charge.
