To illustrate these themes Deborah will share some memorable, and occasionally preferably forgotten experiences arising from researching her books. She will also discuss her writing processes and her perspective of the value of historical fiction as a form of public history in New Zealand.

Deborah is a writer and a historian.  She has been writing professionally since 2000, and has had eight historical novels published as well as several works of non-fiction.
The talk will take approximately 40 minutes and will be followed by a 10/15 minute Q&A session.
