NZSA seeking new Executive Director

After six years at the helm NZSA executive director Elizabeth Allen is moving on to take up a role as project manager for an energy management company.

The NZSA is looking for an Auckland-based Executive Director to replace her, someone with a passion for literature and a unique blend of organisational skills.
The NZSA has been serving the needs of writers for over 73 years and has steadily built a reputation for being proactive and responsive to writers' needs. This is shown in our increased range of programmes, awards and fellowships.

Can you successfully lead, have empathy with working writers' concerns, and communicate collaboratively with members, funding agencies, government departments, the book industry and the media to further our goals?
You will need to have a variety of skills and expertise to bring to the organisation. These include communications and PR, experience in fundraising, negotiating contracts, and having a good knowledge of copyright and accounting procedures.

You will manage a small team and report to the President and the National Council of the NZSA.
